Jaianniah 2009-12-09T15:15:57Z 2010-08-12T01:02:19Z
I have been having a lot of "Frustration" dreams lately. I think it is because I cannot do the things I want to because of the recent surgery on my leg. I am beginning to wonder, though. Maybe I am feeling frustrated in some other part of my life. I do not know. Is my brain just dumping the emotions I feel during the day, or should I be paying the attention to them that I am? What do you think? How can I interfere with the dreams in order to stop having them?
Blessings and Light, Jai
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/2749/is-dream-interpretation-a-valid-practice Is dream interpretation a valid practice? Jaianniah 2009-12-28T12:11:40Z 2010-08-12T00:50:04Z
I have often wondered if dream interpretation is something only the person having the dream can do. But there are 'pop culture" books explaining dreams...Are they a gimmick? Or our our dreams full of symbols we all have in common? As someone said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." (I know Deanna Troi said this to Data in a Star Trek NG episode- she was referring to Freud's type of dream interpretation.)
Sleep well...I woke up after having another nightmare about my Mom...thus this question...Jaianniah
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/1433/does-sleep-have-any-spiritual-benefits Does sleep have any spiritual benefits? Loz 2010-05-07T13:14:25Z 2010-06-10T06:19:49Z
I have been having visions of moving flashes of people and other things e.g. seasides, villages, objects etc. it started a few years ago. i don't know why and what i am supposed to do about them. sometimes there mouths move but i don't hear them speak, or they will wave as if they are aware that i can see them. and they are trying to tell me something, but what? i thought i was the only one who saw moving visions, flashes of people that i have never seen before while trying to go to sleep. I've had many experiances that some may call spiritual, from when i was a child, but this just started when i turned 21 years old. before and since then i have always had suffered with insomnia. til this day i don't know what i am supposed to make of them, over the years they have got clearer. I don't even know what to refer them as being when i tell peope about them. i just call them flashes or visions. Do they have another name? can anyone who has them, tell me what they may mean?
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/4920/why-do-we-have-nightmares Why do we have nightmares? NP74 2010-03-02T22:14:20Z 2010-03-03T08:07:40Z
We need to sleep every day. Why do we spend a third of our lives in a dormant state? Sleep deprivation leads to loss of judgment, failure of health, and eventually to death.

Despite the importance of sleep its purpose is a mystery.
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/4514/lately-when-i-try-to-meditate-i-fall-asleep-is-it-because-of-sickness-or-am-i Lately, when I try to meditate, I fall asleep. Is it because of sickness, or am I doing something wrong? Jaianniah 2010-02-25T02:26:02Z 2010-02-25T19:23:51Z
I usually have good meditation times, but lately, especially since I started the IV treatments, I start my meditation tape and promptly fall asleep. How can I prevent this? Or can I? Is it this way when one is ill?
Blessings, Jai
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/4366/can-one-cure-a-case-of-constant-insomnia-in-a-spiritual-way Can one cure a case of constant insomnia in a spiritual way? Jaianniah 2010-02-22T04:10:26Z 2010-02-22T18:21:15Z
Throughout the last year, what with this and that, I have developed a raging case of short-sleep insomnia. I have tried everything. It just occurred to me that there might be some spiritual methods that I never "dreamed" of...Help!
Yawn...Jai
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/3600/why-are-some-people-night-owls-and-some-people-day-people Why are some people "night owls" and some people "day people"? Jaianniah 2010-02-06T12:17:49Z 2010-02-12T20:53:52Z
I am a night owl- and have always been one. My father was a night owl, and my mother was a day person, and it used to drive my mother crazy that Dad could not go to bed "like a decent person". I happen to think it is genetic, although I have to admit, it got worse when I had small children- it was the only time I could be alone and do what I wanted to do. Now that my children are grown and I live alone, I still stay up half the night...even though I could go to bed at six pm if I wanted to...What do you think?

Blessings, Jai
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/3031/when-is-it-appropriate-to-see-a-counselor When is it appropriate to see a counselor? Jaianniah 2010-01-07T10:31:39Z 2010-01-08T20:18:00Z
I have frequent nightmares, and have had them ever since I was raped in 2007.
I have a rape counselor, and I have gone through their award-winning program for victims of sexual assault.
Yet, I still have nightmares.
I am now terrified of being alone at night, and wake frequently.
My dreams are typical anxiety dreams; I am usually being chased by a frightening person who has a gun, and he gets closer and closer, until I wake up.
I also have dreams of intense frustration: I dream that I am injured and near death. My mother happens to be giving a party. I go to my mother, and show her my cut-off arm or whatever injury I have suffered in the dream. She tells me to go away; I am disrupting her party. I wander from person to person, and they all ignore me. I cry in my sleep; When I wake up, my pillow is soaked with tears.
I have a psychiatrist who is trying two different medications to calm my sleeping mind, but I have this feeling that this is something that goes really deep.
What do you think? Should I seek counseling for the dreams? Or should I try to ride this out?
Thanks, Jai
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/2468/has-a-dream-ever-changed-your-life Has a dream ever changed your life? Jaianniah 2009-12-17T09:55:12Z 2009-12-17T19:59:23Z
I had a dream recently that brought clarity to my relationship with my estranged husband.
I was with John, and we saw a large, multi-storied building. John and I entered the building. It was like a massive mall-building, with floors and floors of different things to do. I decided I wanted to go to the tenth floor. John, on the other hand, was content to stay on the first floor. I went up to the tenth, and came upon a series of maze-like corridors, filled with rooms of people with various different spiritual outlooks. I was fascinated by it.
But suddenly, I wanted to get back to John, but I could not find an elevator. I wandered the halls, getting more and more worried about getting back to John.
When I woke up, I thought about the dream for awhile, and realized that the dream was a lot like our relationship. John is not really very spiritual, and calls most of what I practice "hocus-pocus". He does not believe that Christ was Divine, for example. I saw that I have moved past him in my journey- not "better" or "more holy"- just that I need more spirituality in my life than he does.
This dream led me to a great understanding of our differences, and the realization that we are just not "equally-yoked" in many ways. This realization, in turn, helped give me great peace about our separation.
Please tell me if you have ever had a dream like this, and how it helped you.
Blessings, Jaianniah "the Questioner" (LOL)
http://www.inwardquest.com/questions/2175/what-is-the-ego-doing-while-our-body-is-asleep What is the ego doing while our body is asleep? Does it sleep or become inactive while our body sleeps ?
