Hello everyone,

My wife and I have been consciously reading and working with LOA for the past two years (even though we have known and practiced metaphysical material for a long time, although not so methodically as now). Studying material from Bashar, Abraham and others. Using techniques like the Sedona Method, EFT and BSFF. In the process we have uncovered A LOOOOOT of stuff from ourselves. We have released a lot of things and basically are in the process of reprogramming ourselves.

Alongside all this, specially for the last year, we have been living in a pretty bizarre situation. We are in the US as international students and trying to stay here. With money being tight and almost zero opportunities regarding jobs, etc.

Even though internally things are going better, each of us have more peace with ourselves, understand a lot more, etc. Externally, things seem to be getting worse and worse. I know that there's the saying that things get worse before they get better, but our question is: If we have released beliefs, and release a ton of resistance shouldn't things be changing by now, at least the tiniest of glimpses?

We have been dealing with a lot of stress from this situation and also trying to let go of it hehehe; but there are moments where our mood makes a turn for the worst. Following Abraham's teachings, we are just trying to get some relief, and I know that this is a great place for that.

Any insights, help, tips, etc are greatly appreciated. Sorry for such a long post.

" ... should't things be changing by now, at least the tiniest of glimpses?" ...

how do you recognize those glimpses? in other words how to perceive the feedback from what you send out?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feedback

(21 Jun '15, 00:52) jaz

Using an electronics model as a metaphor of how feedback works in the case of LOA;

feedback definition (ref; The Free Dictionary); the return of part of the output of an electronic circuit device or mechanical system to it's input, so modifying it's characteristics.

In other words that's how things grow and evolve naturally.

(21 Jun '15, 01:21) jaz

Now here's the really interesting part ... using the same metaphor;

In "negative" feedback a rise in output energy reduces the input energy, in "positive" feedback an increase in output energy reinforces the input energy.

So from the point of view of LOA what does it mean?

What does All this mean? from a practical point of view and from what I actually experience all day everyday it means ...

Self-Empowerment

I can really relate to your question, Kriegerd. I was exactly in the same situation... I practiced EFT and Sedona for two and a half years, with lots of blissful moments but no improvement in the physical world. I believe that the fact EFT and Sedona (like many other methods) focus on "searching and destroying" negative beliefs, makes lots of the people practicing those methods get stuck. If you are in the state of appreciation, and you are looking for something to release, then it will bring your vibration back down.

Lester Levenson who created Sedona Method, wrote himself :

The concept of lack is only in our consciousness. One must let go of it aud in its place have concepts of abundance, affluence, and well being.

When one learns, by actually experiencing it that mind is only creative, he then holds in mind only the things he wants and never takes thought for the things he does not want. Our concepts are the sum total of our thinking and most of them are now subconscious. We must, with effort, hold the right concepts until they become more powerful than the subconscious wrong concepts. Then they become the habit and take the place of the wrong concepts. When the subconscious mind is so conditioned life becomes beautiful and happy.

Man's behavior today is about 90% determined by his subconscious thinking. He is acting automatically and is determined by his past, and now subconscious, ideas and concepts. That is why he finds it so difficult to make correct thinking effective. It is necessary to persevere with correct thinking until it becomes the habit by overriding the subconscious habit.

Also in the "Master Key System", the same thing is mentioned :

The subconscious mind cannot argue controversially. Hence, if it has accepted wrong suggestions, the sure method of overcoming them is by the use of a strong counter suggestion, frequently repeated, which the mind must accept, thus eventually forming new and healthy habits of thought and life, for the subconscious mind is the seat of Habit. That which we do over and over becomes mechanical; it is no longer an act of judgment, but has worn its deep grooves in the subconscious mind. This is favorable for us if the habit be wholesome and right. If it be harmful, and wrong, the remedy is to recognize the omnipotence of the subconscious mind and suggest present actual freedom. The subconscious being creative and one with our divine source will at once create the freedom suggested.

My friend, I would stop focusing on releasing the resistance (which causes you to focus on the resistance), and instead focus on what you want - which will automatically release restistance. I suggest you start doing the Abraham meditations every day, so you develope sensitivity and start noticing during the day when you are feeling bad. Decide that the most important thing in your life for now, is to feel good, for as long as you can. And also don't forget to enjoy it:).

LOA has no exceptions. What you see around you, is the vibration you are offering. When looking for negative things to release, it's practically impossible to maintain a high, steady vibration that will materialize. It's time to really take this stuff to the next level. Good luck.

Thank you very much @Benjamin for answering, you are totally right. My wife and I thought about the "seek and destroy" mission, we actually saw an Abraham's video about it , and it definitely felt that way, although we got much done with them. We have cut back on those techniques and are focusing more on the positive. I'm also doing the Master Key System, I begin part 7 tomorrow :-). Thanks again.

Hello,

I don't know why no one has answered your question yet, but your question seems very similar to this one below, so hope you find some of your answers there.

@Inner Beauty: It's a very good question, but it is very 'heavy'. I'd assume the reason others aren't answering is the same reason I'm not, which is we're waiting for one of the 'heavy hitters' to come along and address it, and then learn from it ourselves. ^_^

Thanks for sharing that link, and I'd say @Stingray's answer there is very applicable here. In fact, I am not quite sure how he could top that here, but I'm interested to see if he is going to try. =P

Rephrase: After reading on, lots of the answers there are very helpful, not just Stingrays. =P Still, same point, great link, etc etc, thanks for sharing. ^_^

Thanks a lot for answering @Inner Beauty. I had read that question when it came out and forgot about it, but reading it now with the understanding gained last year changed my perspective and helped me out. In the middle of it all, my wife and I are incredibly grateful because being in this situation has pushed us to things we'd never imagined. Thank you for the reminder!

(26 Feb '12, 10:25) Kriegerd

You're totally right @Snow, I've definitely been in that position with other questions, where I just sit back and wait to learn from the wisdom and experience of those "heavy hitters". Thanks for posting.

I think a lot of people don't realize that the vortex is a feeling place. It's seeing the world through the eyes of source with the vibration of source.

If you have been projecting a lot of negative thought and have established a reality around you that you don't like, from a lower vibration, then what happens when you first touch the vortex is often NOTHING. Bashar refers to this often as 'the test' and 'circumstances don't create your state of being' your inner vibration does.

Your circumstances often change rapidly but sometimes they don't. The difference is the feeling. Once you're in the vortex everything in your life you see through a positive lens. It doesn't matter what the subject is it could be a 'difficult' relationship, debt, living in a house you don't prefer. You still see it as good and positive and exciting.

You're happy where you are and eager for more. You know there's more coming, it will most probably drop through your letterbox today but you're absolutely super happy anyway whether it comes or not, who cares because my relationship/debt/house is just so darn wonderful. Wooooo hooooo :) for the contrast and the more that is to come.

It's very hard to explain. The closest example we have for this is children as Abraham often says. You could drop a group of children into a funeral and they will still be drawn together to play together and have fun. The parents will try to stop it but that is the childrens' instinct. That's the vortex instinct. Life's one big party of joyful fun and whatever the conditions that are in front of me, that's what I'm feeling inside.

That's FREEDOM because you can go anywhere, with anyone and have a good time. The stuff does come and it comes in avalanches but it's not needed to secure your daily good mood. You can change your mood all by yourself. You don't need to observe 'good' things to feel good. You can feel really good observing 'bad' things too. Freedom. :)

@Yes - great answer! I can reliably tell when I'm in the vortex (which currently happens in short bursts), because I think thoughts about parts of my life that I disprefer like "There's really no rush to change that... It's fine." and MEAN it 100%. It's much less easy for me to think thoughts with the intent of getting into the Vortex, though. When I'm out, thoughts like "there's no rush" fill me with resistance, since when OOTV I believe there very much is a rush!

@corduroypower That's exactly how it is when you first touch the vortex. Those difficult subjects can sometimes push you right out. Over time you will find your balance in the vortex vicinity and when you do that you can pull those subjects up to where you are. They don't pull you out, you pull them in. Once you're habitually ITV on those subjects your reality will change to reflect that. What an exciting place to stand! Enjoy finding the balance. The better it gets the better it gets. :)

@Yes - thank you! This DOES feel exciting, actually. I feel like a baby who's been learning to walk: I'm only able to toddle a couple of steps at a time, but now it's enough that I can see the relationship between my toddling and the effortless walking other people are doing. I'm getting into the vicinity of understanding that there's no rush, I can enjoy the process of learning this amazing new skill. (I'm not in that mellow place all the time, but still, it's a shift.) Thanks for your wisdom!

@corduroypower keep us posted as you move forward. When the stream gets really fast and you're ready for it life gets a little bit crazy, in a good way! Enjoy the ride. :)

Even during the release of resistance there may still be residual negative energy or beliefs which could still have some momentum, that need to shift, in my own experience, I'm glad changes don't happen too quickly as I can adjust accordingly as my beliefs and vibrations are changing, at my own pace, resulting in smoother manifestations. Our higher selves can't give us something we're not ready for, we must be ready, a [vibrational match] and another thing that's crucial is letting go of the mind's grip because it's the very mind that ''notices'' that change hasn't happened yet, thus delaying the wanted reality. The victory occurs when the rational mind is dissolved [not entirely eliminated] and it's of no influence to your [vibrations] emotions, it has no power or hold on you allowing you more clarity, direct communication to Universal intelligence, and much smoother and faster manifestations, it's all about allowing and as uncomfortable as it can be you must ''allow'' the negative momentum to run it's course, until it's dissolved, you cannot fight [resist] it or hurry the process, however, the good news is when this occurs the positive focus becomes more dominant, resulting in positive momentum, then the more desired physical reality begins to unfold.

"Shouldn't things be changing by now?"

No, not necessarily.

In my opinion this is a failing of LOA teachings that it gets us all hyped up about how all our wishes can get fulfilled. The real journey is never about our wishes. It's about how we conduct ourselves moment by moment. My higher self has absolutely no interest in my wishes. It has one single purpose - and that purpose is to take me (eventually) to a place of 100% non-judgement. It will achieve that by whatever means necessary and I will go there, over many thousand lives if necessary, kicking and screaming and protesting - but go I will.

Traditional LOA teachings appear to suggest that my higher self is my slave - like Aladdin's genie. All I have to do is make an intention and as long as I offer no resistance, voila - my higher self has delivered my wish. But then again, the genie is unpredictable. It gives me some things exactly as I wanted, others not at all. It gives me some other things that I never asked for, dreamed of, worried about or wanted. The genie, it appears, is somewhat demented, and is probably half-deaf. If you acted like that genie in your job, you'd get fired before you can say 'genie'.

Personally, I think it's highly unlikely that my higher self - an entity that is infinite, and has infinite wisdom and infinite power - really has no opinion on where it wants me to go. As far as I am concerned my higher self decides every single thing that happens in my life. My job starts and ends at going with the flow.

Not factoring in the opinion of the higher self is a big flaw in LOA paradigm. This is why people who support this paradigm struggle to answer questions like yours. The only answers I have seen offered range from "Well you probably haven't been that good in controlling your mind" to "It's coming, just hang on for another year".

@cod2- I agree with you. I have a saying: If it feels hard, it probably not God's will/not going with the flow of the Universe. Thank you for saying this. ♥
