i recently read an article that talks about improving relationships dramatically with just one change in our believe. if we can on a deep level believe that we are all interconnected making friends and finding soulful relationships become easy and effortless. but how can we do that? if i am alone and thinking about this concept it makes perfect sense and i believe it. but in daily life it seems more difficult. any ideas, techniques, suggestions?

Here are some facets of the "soulless" relationship framework:

Separation - Other people have their own thoughts which are separate and distinct from yours.

Risk of rejection - Human relationships are both imprecise and risky because you never know for certain what other people are thinking.

Potential resistance – It takes courage to approach a stranger; you never know what kind of resistance you may meet when you try to initiate a conversation with someone you don’t know.

Trust takes time - Relationships are built on communication, trust, and familiarity, which takes time to build.

Bonding takes time - You feel closer to people you know and more distant from people you don’t know. Total strangers are the biggest risk of all; the less you know about a person, the less certain you are of your mutual relationship prospects.

Risk of attachment – There’s a risk of becoming attached to destructive or abusive relationships (or simply those that no longer serve you) because you’ve invested so much time and energy in building them.

Here are some facets of this interconnected model of relationships:

Oneness - Other people are not separate and distinct from you. In fact, they are you.

Connectedness – You don’t have to “build” relationships with others because you’re already connected. You need only tune into the pre-existing connection that’s already there.

No risk - Little or no courage is required to approach strangers. You’re never actually building new connections from scratch. You’re just recognizing what’s already there.

Equality – You can feel just as close to total strangers as you do to your friends.

Significance – All relationships are significant; none are irrelevant. Even the strangers you pass on the street are important parts of you.

Love without attachment - Letting go of harmful relationships is easier because you’re still unconditionally connected to everyone else. As you release old relationships that no longer serve you, you’ll attract new ones that are compatible with you.

Here is a guided relaxation meditation I wrote. Do it every day to feel more connected to All that is. Also, you can use Two Hands Touching with affirmations like,

do THT then say, "I am connected in love with the spirit everyone in my family." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everyone in my job."Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everyone in my town." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everyone in my state." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everyone in my country." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everyone in the whole world." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everything in the whole solar system." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everything in the whole galaxy." Then do THT

"I am connected in love with the spirit of everything in the whole universe." Then do THT

"Let the Divine Idea come out of this connection." Then do THT

You can even do the EZ Deletion Sequence for each line before you connect with them.

This is a wonderful exercise! It reminds me of the God consciousness experiments that I used to write. :-)

(03 Oct '12, 15:59) Wade Casaldi

I just spent a while typing an answer that took me a while to type, I was near finished when someone called and I moved and bumped my mouse (as I was looking to see who that was). I turned around to find I had somehow activated the back button and lost everything I was typing!

Attempt # 2

Throw a pebble into a pool of water, see how the ripples undulate outwards from the center. Now throw three or four pebbles into the water, see how the ripples intersect with each other. The ripples crisscross and affect each other.

When I write this response I am tossing a pebble into the pool of Inward Quest. This answer that I am writing is the pebble tossed, now the ripples that are proceeding outwards is the affect it is having on those that read this answer. You can accept or reject this but you cannot ignore it, unless you skip over it without reading it. It is affecting you right now just as your question affected me to elicit a response.

When you typed your question, you where throwing into the pool of consciousness your pebble. This pebble has caused the ripples that have affected me and everyone else that reads this and these answers. Not only this but as well those that did not read this but know people that did read this and were affected by it. But we can not stop there we must include the people those people know and as well will ever meet. Now we have to as well include generations as this knowledge gets pasted on, not only to those of the same age, but as well children growing up hear what the adults are saying, and so are affected by it. Now we must as well keep in mind "memory" that this all 'if it has a strong enough effect on people' will stick with them for life and so this lives now not only as something in text, but lives within each of us. This wisdom is passed on from generation to generation maybe forever!

So the real question is "How could we possible not affect and be all connected to each other?"

Remove one card from a house of cards and the whole house falls. Turn one gear in a machine and all gears turn together. We may think that what we think say and do has little consequences but we would be so very mistaken.

The words of Captain John Paul Jones still affect people today, "I have not yet began to fight!" Do you think when he said those words he actually meant to influence people for all time to not give up no matter how dire the situation may look? I doubt that very much, but do his words still live? Is he still to this day affecting the word and who knows someday the our solar system, our galaxy as we go outwards into the unknown to populate space? I believe this shows very well that we are all connected. His ripples still live and are still flowing outwards to this very day. So do ours, we just don't notice the affect we have because we are living too close to the pebble to see the ripples.

Believe it or not, I wrote most of this from memory of what I just wrote. It is very close to what I lost by accident. Maybe it needed to be that way to be even better. I do believe this one is better than that first draft that I lost anyway. :-)

@Wade Casaldi - "activated the back button and lost everything I was typing" - Try installing the Lazarus Form Recovery addon into your web browser. It's free and it saves you from this sort of thing happening: http://getlazarus.com/ I've been using it for a few years and it has saved me a number of times :)

(02 Oct '12, 12:33) Stingray

Thanks Stingray I'll check it out. Yes you can see by how much I wrote how much I lost. lol

This has happened before with even much bigger answers. :-(

(02 Oct '12, 12:46) Wade Casaldi

@Wade Casaldi - Terrific answer. It's hard to believe I could matter so much. This is making me look at the idea again, because you are making so much sense. Thank you.

(02 Oct '12, 13:24) Grace

thanks for retyping your thoughts. these are very true words. this reminds me of the concept called "butterfly effect".

"The flap of a butterfly’s wings in Brazil can set off a tornado in Texas"

InwardQuest should just have a java exit-prompt like some other forums when you are trying to leave the page with something typed in the answer box. I am sure it can be looked into @Simon Templeton

I am trying to find something like Lazerus for Opera web browser.
