This past year or so I have become a lot more sensitive to energy in my body and also some energy blockages. One pretty big blockage in particular radiates from the back of my neck to the top of my head. This becomes more noticeable when I meditate or am focusing in on something. @Stingray give me some excellent advice for a smaller blockage I had a few months ago and it worked great. However this one seems to be very stubborn:)

The most effective method for clearing energy blockages for me was always to not see them as energy blockages. It's a very subtle but crucial shift in attitude. I know that you know that allowing is powerful. But knowing is not always applying. Our minds can play tricks on us.

Here is a question to consider before you try to do something:

What is the difference between an "energy blockage" in the neck and a massage stroke that you get?

In fact there is none. Both sensations are neutral. The difference comes from our perspective and our judgement.

What is the difference between your lover kissing you and somebody you hate kissing you?

There is none. Both have human lips and it feels the same on your skin when you close your eyes. But your judgement about it makes it what you say it is (neutral props).

So if you were truly accepting the energy in your neck, you wouldn't either care or you would be happy about it. You wouldn't ask this question. (No offense here).

Here is what i would do.

From now on don't try to "clear an energy blockage". See it as starting a new friendship. Practice changing your attitude and don't be hard on yourself if you can't change it instantly. Practice is key.

How long does it take for a human being to establish a friendship? It depends. Some people can seem to make friends instantly while others need their time to build trust. There is no right or wrong.

What's more important is your attitude and wanting to make friends with your energy.

Check out the steps here on how to make friends with somebody you've never spoken before and apply them to your energy. I know this sounds strange, but if you want to make friends with your energy then you have to treat it like you would treat someone you want to know better :).

I have a similar problem Satori so can relate. Only yesterday I came across an energy medicine technique from Donna Eden. Donna recommends a daily five minute series of exercises that keep energy moving smoothly around the body and THE CROWN PULL is part of it but can be carried out on its own. The benefits are: * stimulates blood flow to head * releases mental congestion * Helps overcome insomnia * Strengthens memory * opens crown chakra to higher inspiration

Start with the thumbs on your temples and your fingertips rests at the middle of your forehead. Apply pressure and slowly pull your fingers apart, stretching the skin. Breathe deeply, in through your nose and out through the mouth. Repeat as feels good.

Continue with this exercise, each time starting with the fingers further back - so you start with them on the forehead, next time just behind the front hairline, next on the top and so on until you are starting with them at the point just above the base of the neck. (I find it difficult to keep my thumbs on the temples during all of this and in the pictures she seems to have forgotten about that bit of the instruction so don't think that is a major issue - it is more the pulling on the skin that does the work).

@Satori Sorry - didn't see your question to me in the comments ... have just re-read the question and don't think I've answered it very well as the above method is untested by me as I only came across it this week. The only thing to say is that Donna appears to be pretty well thought of - she's been at it a while and her text book Energy Medicine looks like a bit of a classic, good reviews on Amazon. I'm giving it a go - the whole five minute routine as outlined in her Energy Medicine Kit.

Not an expert, incremental body relaxation and paying attention to the blockage while at the same time searching for other body parts that start to come to the surface with tension and then paying attention to them and keep going like that. Some times "the root" its in a part of the body that you are reluctant to look for some reason. The mc2method good explanation (look IQ for a password to it, I'd post it but don't want to get credit for something it isn't mine), it's something it's explained in the original silva method book too.

This topic is close to my heart because I have dealt with energetic imbalances manifesting in the body which caused great discomfort.

After many trials and errors, I came to the insight that the heart has the blueprint for perfect energetic alignment of the body and its integration with the environment. So in order for us to be a seamless expression of this natural non-physical blueprint, our center of attention (where attention always rests) has to be the heart.

This is tricky especially because our society conditions us to control and overthink, so the center is dislodged further up into the head. If you make it a habit to stay centered in the heart and follow its cues through resonance (connect more with what makes you feel good and relieved and avoid what causes internal dissonance), you will start to feel the energies realigning within you quite naturally.

But the most important thing to remember is ALWAYS COME BACK TO THE HEART, no matter what and no matter the discomfort. Things will eventually start to make sense again <3 Hope this helps

This is good advice. One of my favourite energy healing techniques is to alternate my focus between the blockage, and my heart/pure love, or to simply focus on loving the blockage, which makes it soften considerably. The heart is powerful.

Hi Cassiopeia! Thank you for your input. People in these circles often talk about forgiveness and I never knew quite how to forgive (I was trying to forgive myself for having caused these imbalances). As I progressively move more and more into the heart, I realise that forgiveness is perceiving our negative self talk through the heart which is always 'forgiving'. As the belief is perceived through the heart, it loses its power over us! Heart is powerful indeed ;)

I use a 4000 psi pressure washer. Blows those blockages to Kingdom come! Works great. Also removes flaking paint and cleans our driveway!

I appreciate all the wisdom here. I use variations of all of these solutions, especially deep relaxation and not seeing it as a problem or blockage. I also like to ground my energy. I think that Surfgrass is pointing towards this, as focusing on the heart brings the energy down. You might also focus on your feet or any idea of a grounding cord or root that feels comfortable to you. You can walk barefoot on the Earth while setting the intention for organizing your energies. Either of these will bring your energy down. Also, in addition to Eden energy techniques, I practice what the International Academy of Consciousness calls a VELO - Voluntary Energetic Longitudinal Oscillation, a practice of moving energy up and down the body to clear and strengthen the energy system. As a person sensitive to energies, you can probably figure out how to do that.
