The Bible says, "God did not give you the spirit of fear, but of patience and self control." Does that mean that these emotions are spirits? Are spirits the same as angels? If so then are the negative emotions fallen angels? Then also wouldn't someone with many negative emotions be spirit posessed? Or is there a difference?

no, they are not spirits, they are your soul reacting to the diffrent vibrations. the low vibrations are fear. the high vibration is love. there are only these two emotions. if you think about it. there are several emotions you can name. you think of some as good and some as bad. all of the ones you consider bad origanate from fear. all of the ones you consider good origonate from love. when you dig down to the truths of where your emotions are TRULY comming from, you will see that all other emotions origonate from either love or fear !! now if you think that fear is a "fallen angel" or demon or bad entity you have to understand that you are seeing fear as only negitive. this isnt true. (from my point of veiw lol :-) -) it can be greatly bennifital . it can cause you to leave from dangerous situations or even make you react to situations that can hurt you (pysicly or mentaly) . if you see every as only good or only bad and do not give youtrself the chance to posibly see a good from what most see as bad, then you are robbing yourself from the chance of expanding yourself in many ways. this is a trick i use all of the time. i take the worst possible sinario and i turn it into good, well i hope that helps you, love n light, rob

I think the clue to this is that God "IS" spirit. He isnt "A" spirit but spirit.

Therefore i would assume that God isnt fear so i would then go on to think that spirit is seperate from emotion.

When we talk about "getting into the spirit" of an activity or event i tend to think this is what this bible verse actually means.

There is in reality only spirit,God spirit. We are extensions of this and must at a non egoic purely spiritual viewpoint be as the Father is.

Are there fallen angels, i would think not. The Father wouldnt have a fallen aspect in Him.Do they exist outside of the Father. No. Nothing exists outside of the Father.

Then what is fear?

(23 Mar '12, 10:34) Fairy Princess

Yes, I think you are right. "The Spirit of Love", the "Spirit of Fear", "Spirit of hate" are examples of emotions... "spirits" are not "demons" or the "devil"... they are emotions, they are around us everyday and we have to chose which ones we let enter our lives. You cant "see" emotions but we know that they are there and we know that they affect our minds and bodies. Stress, for example, is an emotion that comes from "the spirit of fear". You only stress when you don't have faith. Stress, as we know today, is linked with every major cause of death in modern humans. From suicides to heart attacks.

The interesting thing is when we call Fear a Spirit and cast it out it goes! It is amazing, Fear, Depression, Anger, Worry, Doubt all of these when we make an identity out of them we can cast them out from us.

Listen to this song *Our God Reigns Here.* by John Waller. Just listening to the song is healing, it is amazing you actually feel healed and uplifted like oh I didn't know I had this or that hanging around until he cast it out. :-)

Hi Fairy Princess, You have certainly asked an original question and one that will get many views and answeres. There are spirits and than there are spirits and they are very different from each other.

To get inbto the spirit of things like at a party or wherever is one kind and is the kind spoken of in this instance. When you get into the spirit of your emotions it simply means you are fully imersed in that emotion and are feeling it. You could be feeling the spirit of love or the spirit of happiness by being jolly and enjoying yourself. You could be feeling the spirit of fear by being scared by something or of something or someone.

The other spirits are actual spirit beings like angels or demons or ghosts of those passed on. Theese are not the ones relevant to your question.

Most words in the English language have more than one meaning and sometimes the meanings can be simmilar but are in fact very different.

i agree paulina the meaning and how you understand or take what is said can make a big difference. in the same way some people take things to personnal sometime and attribute stuff to the person that is not there at all because they did not take it like it was give.

(23 Mar '12, 05:46) white tiger

So you are saying that the spirit of fear is not a spirit like the spirit of dead people? I guess that is the same thing I am saying, jus different words.

(23 Mar '12, 10:37) Fairy Princess

nope the spirit of fear mention is because people fear but they should not fear and have patience and self control. and yes some spirit are angels. and yes some spirit are fallen angels. and yes there is a difference. the person with many negative emotion is not posessed because he does it with is free will. ok you are going to say well sometime it comes from outside and yes it is true but how he choose to react from things from outside comes also from him. will it serve him to be mad at the world? i do not think so.being in harmony and solving the problem is a much better choice do you not agree?

is it so hard to take care of the temple?

experience and enjoy.

Yes anger is a spirit and spirit refers to emotion. You must remember, we evolved into our linguistics. We did not always have such a robust dialect that defined almost everything in existence and nonexistent. We also spoke a single language at one point in time. The Bible references to this split at the tower of Babel in Genesis 11:9. Other cultures managed to define instances with the same "One word" definitions.

Throughout history, we have coexisted with spirits or forces. Some people that practice satanism or occultism sell their souls to the devil for extra powers. The bad thing is that you have no control over yourself. Exorcisms are required to rid these unruly spirits from the body. It is similar to a person giving ones self to a drug like heroin. You have to be a willing participate. Emotions are a broadcast signal to the universe. Concentrated negative emotions like fear can attract undesirables, but you must give up first. All Angels are fallen. That does not mean that they are all evil. Some have chosen the fall to help man progress. These are the positive spirit guides also. Jesus is a start. You have the potential to gravitate to either side. Fill your heart with the power of love. Know that this is your choice and you will know inside that fear is a choice. This is one of the responsibilities and power of self discovery.

Why do you say all Angels are fallen The Knights Alchemy?

(05 Apr '11, 08:25) flowingwater

All Angels are fallen because they made a choice. Either to help or hinder man, they are actively choosing to participate in this world. As soon as that happens, they fall. Perfection cannot interfere with this world. It is not bound by time. It is the essence of free will. It is the anti-matter of this world. Any interference would collapse this Universe. The fall is the glue that holds the two worlds together like a battery.

@The Knights Alchemy If we create our own reality, then wouldn't all the satan devil stuff be only as real as we believe it to be?

Sort of.

Emotions are collective consciousnesses. Spirits join as ONE under a collective consciousness.

"Desire/Longing" would be the Luciferian Consciousness always wanting more control and power to become god-like.

"Hate, Angry" would be Satanic Consciousness always wanting to be destructive and conflicting.

"Love Compassion" would be Christ Consciousness seeing all as One being one with God "The Father".

there are many others in between...

Spirit doesn't speak to you through fear. The universe is abundant, there is no lack, we have a choice, we have perception, we have the law of polarity (everything is whole, you can see whatever you want, create whatever you want and make any choice about anything you want) Fear is a result of our limitations and our false (limiting) programs (beliefs) we can change the programming running our subconscious and we can change the beliefs. Spirit/universe/god/source/energy wants only the best for us- because when we are limitless, we are shining lights and examples of the infinite- we are a more "clearer" conduit for source to flow through us. In fear we are constricted and not serving anyone by being small and limited and choosing to focus on lack. So no, fear is a creation of our minds/programming/beliefs. Fear is not spirit and spirit does not speak to us through fear, it is only a conditioned response that must be overcome. Often the best things happen when we make a decision to move beyond fear. The only two "natural" fears are 1) fear of loud noises and 2) fear of heights- these things protect us in a survival sense. All other fears are self-created through beliefs and programming.

Yes emotions are spirits. The origin of spirit is breath whereas the origin of emotion is to move. Both similar in that they are animators or self-movers. They are living entities and have a life of their own but only through you and only if you allow them to. If fear, for instance, consumes you, you become that spirit - fear as do your actions. Look at the world around you and see if you can guess which spirit has consumed it and then try to tell me that they are not living spirits.

Hello @The Truth, emotions are indicators that carry useful information so in this sense they could be named angels or spirit guides. Any emotion including the emotion labeled "fear" is triggered by the actual belief system of the person experiencing the emotion.

(06 Nov '15, 10:08) jaz

Perhaps emotions are spirits of a sort. Perhaps we can choose what type of spirit is allowed to be within us by allowing thoughts or feelings to contribute to the 'life' if you will of said spirit.

That depends on your mindset at the time.

You have the innate power to deal with something as its own entity, or just as an aspect of yourself.

With fear, I find it generelly more helpful to not treat it like a spirit. I might heal scared spirits, who are just a nice bunch who could have taken to looking scary to deal with their own fear, and I will usually turn them over to gentle-but-strong entities I imagine know how to deal with them.

Fear itself, however, I treat like something that I do, and hence, can stop doing. It is not something seperate from me that I can't control, but I may have a fearful habit I haven't learned how to change yet.

As with the other emotions, the same goes. They are just energy, just like your body, your imagination, your spirit. For the same reason, they can have spirits that you can relate to. Even with fear, if personifying it to a spirit helps you deal with it, you can do that. Any energy, which means, any part of the universe that you can focus on distinctly, has a spirit, and it is up to you if you want to deal directly with the energy you feel, or imagine what it would look like as a spirit. The result will be the same regardless- chose whatever works best for you.

My suggestion for a good place to start experimenting is to treat emotions as wave-like non-personified energy, like light, because they are so intimately tied to you, and treating them as spirits might distract you from the idea that they are yours to change. In nature, I usually keep to images as well- but one area where I really love to work with spirits is technology, because the idea that gadgets are not alive is so much easier to overcome that way.

All negative emotions are energy in motion, and they all have a purpose. For example, anger arise when both the partners want to watch different TV programs (and this happens repeatedly) yet they have only one TV. Now turn this anger to buying one more TV which means the end of anger on this subject. Here you channelized the energy called anger on to the problem, not on the person with whom you are angry. Hence anger is like a knife--you can use it beneficially or harmfully. So are all other negative emotions--including fear!
