As soon as I joined IQ I asked for affirmations to counteract headaches. I got very good results with a couple of affirmations that a user posted there. The result lasted for month but now the pain is back. Some of you must have been reading new books on that, or anything that can be of help...anything! I am in dire need...! This was my former question:

Headaches-in need of a good affirmation

Or any method you can think of. I will be very very grateful! (It is not a physical condition. I've seen plenty of Drs. and everything is ok with me physically).

Thank you in advance!!!

Have you tried EFT along with your affirmations?

no, I didn't...

Why not try looking at Abraham meditative CDs - the one on physical well-being. you don't have to meditate to the CDs but personally I think you could try changing some of the affirmations on the CDs to suit yourself.

Hello BridgetJones09, yes we can all sympathize with you, chronic pains are terrible ... let's put aside the result, that is, the pain for the moment and examine the question from the point of view of the law of attraction ...

For me this question could be rephrased ... "how can i better fight my headaches ?" ... according to the law of attraction whatever i give my attention, focus or energy to i attract into my life ... in other words trying to fight the headaches reinforces them ... if we now follow the law of attraction to a logical conclusion, the way to eliminate headaches becomes clear ... relax and meditate.

These kind of headaches are caused by inner tension and conflict suggesting that there is a sensitivity within that needs to be expressed ... it's a bit like asthma sufferers (my mother was one), the more they struggle for air, the less they can breathe. A long term remedy would be to find the root cause of the inner tension.

have a peaceful day

I've just read that the cause of migraines usually is:

"Self-criticism. Not wanting to accept what is going on." I think it's exactly that :p

meditate and relax. be the master of the house. with a pure soul mind and heart. know the light that you are that is always connected to god and talk with him from the heart to remove those pain. it will be done according to your faith. experience and enjoy.

I suffer from migraines. As a matter of fact, I have had one since last Wednesday (January 11 2012). My headache has caused me to vomit and also, I have lost the sight in one eye as well--all from migraine.

I am not sure that you can say an affirmation that will stop them. What you can do is to ask for the means to cope with them. This includes a good doctor who can give you proper treatment and medication; it also includes changing your attitude about the headaches so that they do not become the center of your life.

Perhaps, just perhaps, you can change the fact that you have them--I do not know. I do know that I have tried every course of action to try and stop them and it has not worked. I think this particular bout of headache has been caused by the weather, and there is not much I can do about changing the weather!

Migraines are often misunderstood. They are not a simple condition with a single cause, but a complicated condition with many causes. For me, as a woman, my hormonal cycle can induce migraines. Some people are triggered by certain smells; others are caused by foods and allergies. For example, if I get near a person wearing cologne that is too strong, I can get a headache like that.

Migraines can be inherited. My father suffered from them, and his grandmother had them badly. She was forced to be right-handed when she was actually left-handed and this contributed to her headaches. I know that one gene for migraines is on the same gene as red hair, freckles, fair skin, and left-handedness. But there are plenty of people wh have them who do not fall inot this criteria.

I would focus my affirmations on these ideas:

  1. God, grant me the people I need in my life to combat these headaches.

  2. God, let me know what my "triggers" are and teach me to avoid them.

  3. Lord, grant me the serenity to accept these headaches with grace.

  4. Lord, heal me of these headaches if it is your Will.

I pray you get relief from these nasty headaches. I sympathize.

Peace and wellness,

Jai

I haven't read the earlier posts, but may be there is a point of imbalance in your life that you are ignoring. A common examples is people who are very nurturing towards others sometimes don't receive/allow themselves to receive as much as they give. Is there any emotional issue that you are not wanting to face consciously. Is there something that is pestering you or making you angry which you dont want to acknowledge because of guilt or the grief that it would bring to you? If you want emotional healing you could look to the videos of Jenna Forrest/Judith Orloff on youtube.

I would do EFT to eliminate the negative emotions that are triggering it to begin with. In the meantime, if you get one, try the one handed tapping as explained by Karen Naumen. Or another teqhnique on the linked page. Take deep breaths while you do it and try to relax. Drink water before and after. Be aware of signs that it is coming on so that you can do this at first sign before it gets bad. I hope this helps. Peace and blessings.

As far as the affirmations go, do the EFT script while tapping.

Alternate ice packs and heat packs.

Try to think of other things rather than the pain.

Realize that there are other people in the world that are going through more difficult things.

Try different things to see how they work. If something relieves the pain, then use it the next time.

Just try to get through it.

I feel your pain. Take Care.
