This is a topic that keeps reappearing in my life. Once and for all, I want to rid a very old belief that denotes having a (9-5) job (working for someone else) in order to make (a substantial amount of) money. I authentically believe that I have what it takes to be successful doing what I love. Yet, there is some underline fear of not being able to and gain the quality of life that I desire. It stems from my childhood, yet the funny thing is, I (now) have a fiscally successful and happy parent who is doing what she loves. She makes a great living off her creative skills. It wasn't always that way, especially during my formative years, and I know I picked up lack and scarcity and fear in those times. I grew up in a spiritual household with open-mindedness in very big ways, so I should know better. We have had MANY discussions about my fears surrounding money and doing what I love. I have been encouraged to visualize, know it and work toward my goal and the money will appear. I know this to be true, as it has happened in the past as I've continue to build my business, yet I fall off the wagon, from time to time, which kicks me back to my starting point (vibrationally speaking).

I have worked with Focus Blocks, EFT, Meditation, Brainwaves and many processes. I know I can make a change, and I desire to, tremendously. I'd love your feedback and suggestions.

How do you (or did you) reprogram your own mind into KNOWING that you can (and are) making money doing what you love and a enjoying the quality of life you desire, without having a 9-5?

Any tips/suggestions?

@figure8shape - This book was very helpful in shifting my own beliefs that working a 9 to 5 job was the easiest and most efficient way to make money, to the opposite: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1612680100?pc_redir=1402641772&robot_redir=1

And this book, though not opposed to the 9 to 5 job, offers some principles and strategies towards creating the ideal career (can be applied to almost any path) that I have also found to be helpful: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1433669331?pc_redir=1402648246&robot_redir=1

This link also provides some good info...the author makes $500K per year from his website/blog: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2006/07/10-reasons-you-should-never-get-a-job/

Yet, there is some underline fear of not being able to and gain the quality of life that I desire

This is really your answer to your question.

Manifesting is all about allowing what is already done. Fear is anti-allowing. Worry is anti-allowing. Doubt is anti-allowing. "But what if...?" is anti-allowing. "But how can i get there?" is anti-allowing.

Knowing is allowing. Being already there is allowing. Feeling good about your desire is allowing.

I believe you know this already. But you still live in a reality of fear, doubt and "but how can i get there?". So i will give you just a suggestion on how to clear fear, worry, doubt and all this other resistance. Do this exericise as much and as often throughout the day as possible. You know when this exericise works when you read your question here on IQ again and you think to yourself "Damn! How could i ask this question? I already have what i want in my mind. I feel good because i know i have it! I don't need anything else!"

First you need an "instant-clearing-method" such as

You must be able to clear the resistance in about 5-10 seconds after spotting it in your body. So first choose one method that works for you that fast.

  1. Center yourself in your inner body first. This is very important. You must be able to feel even the tiniest bit of resistance in your inner body. Scan every part of your body for about 10-15 seconds. You can use this guided meditation --> Pure Awareness MP3. It's really helpful for this purpose.
  2. Afterwards imagine that you already have what you want now. Your goal is to feel having it now without the shadow of a doubt. While imagining, speak to yourself loudly. E.g. "It is really cool that i make great money doing what i want now. I'm sitting on my chair and i have xxxxxx $ dollars in my bank account. It feels.... This makes me feel independent, free, (add other feelings). Now i don't have to worry about (choose an issue that would have be solved) and (choose another issue that have bothered you before) and....
  3. So here is the most crucial point with this approach. You will probably feel resistance while imagining and speaking to yourself. You will feel doubt, fear, unworthiness or whatever. It doesn't really matter what is is. Because you don't need words or mental pictures for this approach. It's more important that you feel the resistance/limiting belief/negative feeling in your body. That's why you did the inner body scanning first. You want to be able to spot every bit of resistance.
  4. So now you can identify your resistance in your body, probably in your chest, back, stomach or in any other parts of your body. Observe this feeling/energy/resistance. Identify and define its form and its edges.
  5. Now take your preferred clearing method and clear the resistance that you feel in your inner body.
  6. Now try again to imagine your manifested desire and speak to yourself about it like in 2.
  7. If the same or another form of resistance comes up in your body while imagining and speaking to yourself, go to 5. and clear this resistance too!
  8. Do this until there is no resistance, so you can imagine and speak to yourself without feeling any kind of negative feeling. Sometimes it can take a while till all your resistance to your manifested desire is cleard completely.
  9. You should now be able to imagine and speak to yourself... and feel good too! You should feel as if you had already manifested your desire in physical reality without the shadow of a doubt.
  10. Test if there is resistance that you couldn't spot in the first attempt. Come here again and read your own question. If this whole "How do I do what I love, without a 9-5 job?" is not an issue anymore, you were successful. Congratulations! If not, clear the remaining resistance. You can also test it by writing positive aspects and a rampage of appreciation about your new reality. If it feels good and natural to do this, you were successful.

This is an excellent method! I once used this to manifest a certain weekly wage which, before doing this, seemed unreachable to me. And it worked, it was what really convinced me the LOA was real because circumstances would just present themselves so that I would get that exact amount (and I worked as a waitress so wages vary with tips) every week. I only wonder why I have resisted using this method again, since it so clearly works...? Fear of failure, perhaps? Maybe I need to release on that!

Really enjoying your posts, @releaser99 :)

(29 Jan '13, 04:35) cassiopeia

oops, I meant to make this a comment on @releaser99's post but now I can't delete it and re-post it as a comment under his, for some reason, my bad.

(29 Jan '13, 04:37) cassiopeia

@releaser99, Thanks so much for taking time to convey such depthness. I really appreciate your response. Last night I listened to the Pure Awareness MP3 and found it extremely helpful. I will continue to use it moving forward. I also opened Abraham's Vortex book and will will listen to the guided meditation tonight. It's been a long while since I've heard it. The SEE Technique is interesting, will review it again. Did Faster EFT this morning when I was having some anxiety. It helped....

(29 Jan '13, 10:16) figure8shape

@releaser99, (continued) The goal is to find ways to release anti-allowing feelings (right away). I've been watching how I feel, thanks to the MC2 Method, which is helpful. Again, I know better, and have been at this for many, many years, yet this is the ONLY area in my life that is troubling me (currently). With my intention, the support of IQ, and a few close LOA friends, I know I can relax more around this topic. Yesterday was a tough day and needed feedback.

(29 Jan '13, 10:21) figure8shape

@releaser99, (continued) And thanks for the reminder of everything I desire is HERE, NOW! I do believe reality is an illusion, or whatever we perceive it to be. Life presents a lot of distractions, especially when around the public often, however it is not an excuse. I take FULL responsibility for my thoughts, words and actions. I will continue to work with methods and read various posts here on IQ, it always creates an "AHA" moment or two, which is awesome. I am truly thankful :)

(29 Jan '13, 10:24) figure8shape

@cassiopeia, Thank you, for the encouragement as well :)

(29 Jan '13, 10:25) figure8shape

@cassiopeia I'm glad it resonates with you:)... I think you hit the nail on the head here. I realized that the only reason i sometimes resist processes that i know work for sure is that i fear they might not work for some reason anymore. Then i would feel like loosing control over my manifesting abilities and i fear feeling dissappointed in the future. So paradoxically for the mind it seems better to not even try in the first place.

(29 Jan '13, 10:48) releaser99

Not even trying feels better to the anxious mind than risking being disappointed somewhere in the future. This is so irrational if you think about it. But the mind works how it works. What we have to do is to realize that these fears hold us back and in the next step let go of them by using or not using clearing techniques.

(29 Jan '13, 10:48) releaser99

@figure8shape You are really more than welcome. I'm glad it helps. I know myself that some desires (especially the most desired ones) have many layers of resistance. So sometimes it can feel like you are making no progress. But i come to realization that every bit of relief you feel about your desire is peeling away another layer. When it is gone, it's gone for good.

(29 Jan '13, 10:55) releaser99

Just keep peeling the layers constantly. Don't assume you are making no progress. Otherwise you would add another layer of frustration to your desire. But i would recommend not to focus on finding the layers. Because LOA will give your more and more if you do this. Focus on "having it" and peel the layers that come up daily. I added a pic to illustrate what i mean.

(29 Jan '13, 10:55) releaser99

@releaser, Ding-ding-ding! This is an AHA MOMENT! What a brilliant point! Yesterday I was focused on finding layers...thanks for bring it to my awareness. Sometimes I feel shameful when it comes to my thinking processes (and am working on it), as I have been at this a long time and yet feel like a NEO at times. Time really is only NOW.

Love the chart too!

(29 Jan '13, 11:02) figure8shape

@releaser99, Oh and one more thing: Last night while going through your suggested techniques, I realized my word to focus on is COURAGE. Courage to TRUST.

(29 Jan '13, 11:05) figure8shape

@figure8shape I could imagine that this shameful feeling is an important layer that you could release to make progress with manifesting. There is no need to feel shameful, because there is also no need to be in a hurry or to proof something to anyone. You are already there where you want to be.;)

(29 Jan '13, 18:56) releaser99

@releaser99 - Great answer and comments. You knocked this one out of the park! :D

@releaser99, I realize that I didn't do Manifestation Experiment 4!?! I've done the others, helpful indeed. ME4 seems helpful to what I have been dealing with here. To read it through several times and put in the work, I know it will be worth it. I will keep you posted :) Thanks again @releaser99! Thanks @Stingray!

As bashar says, don't jump off the cliff if you don't 'know' you can fly.

You don't have to necessarily give up everything to act on your excitement. You can start by taking whatever steps you can to act on your highest excitement & at the same time honor your belief systems. Eventually & synchronistically, you'd attract whatever opportunities you need to no longer rely on anything other than your highest excitement.

@Gumnaam, Excellent point. Bashar is my FAV right now, or for the last year or so. I didn't have my headphones with yesterday (when I really needed to listen for the emotional motivation) and my vibration sank a bit surrounding this topic. My goal is to not need the feedback of other and to resort to myself, as I know I have everything I need within. It's all a work in progress. Thanks for your response. I appreciate it :)

(29 Jan '13, 10:28) figure8shape

My answer is in line with @Gumnaam's, but I'd like to add my personal story.

I am currently doing what I love - I started my own company a year ago, making healing orgonite jewellery. A few years ago this would have seemed impossible! I was lucky enough to have a mentor helping me out with this, a LOA coach whom I speak to once a month. It's not necessary, but I recommend it.

One thing that I have learnt is that we usually make this process much harder than it should be. When we follow our highest excitement and joy, things go our way. Forget about negative beliefs for a while, and just get really clear on what it is that you want to do. Visualise it, see yourself waking up every day and showering the Universe with appreciation for the gift of being able to do what you love. Then start doing it! And only do things you enjoy! While I still had a 9-5 job, I was making orgonite pendants, although not to sell yet. I also did other things that I really enjoyed - I started making a website, I read other people's stories about them doing what they loved for a living, I daydreamed about having my own company and waking up every day loving my life. Follow your highest excitement, as Bashar keeps telling us - it's so simple, yet so effective.

It took a while for me, as I couldn't focus positively all the time, but after almost a year of building my vision, I was made redundant from my job. I was pretty panicked, but I knew that this was a blessing in disguise as it would have taken me long to take the plunge otherwise. I still had many fears, but I decided to make a go of it. It was hard to stick to my path - suddenly I manifested many recruitment agents contacting me with jobs that paid well and seemed really good (except it wasn't what I wanted to do). I only told the most supportive and LOA-savvy people in my life of my real plans - I told everyone else that I was working on finding a "real" job, as I feared that they would mirror back my fears to me otherwise (this was a wise move, and I recommend it to everyone doing this sort of thing).

I tried to spend as much time as possible in joy - even though I didn't have much money coming in, and I had to sign up for unemployment benefits, I was enjoying making orgonite, and enjoying not having to go to a 9-5 job. And over the course of a few months, things took off, until I was able to make a living off this.

It's still a work in progress. The path of self-employment can be challenging, and I've had some ups and downs. Over a month ago, I decided my current prices were not sustainable, since I found that I was working 24/7 and just barely making ends meet. So I raised my prices. As soon as I did though, all these negative beliefs and lack of self-worth came up, and predictably, my sales plummeted. I spent ages trying to heal negative beliefs, doing EFT, visualising, etc, to no avail. I was in a real panic when I spoke to my coach a couple of weeks ago, rent was due and my bank account was in the negative. She alerted me to the fact that I wasn't spending time doing what I really enjoyed. Work had become stressful, and my internal dialogue was full of "shoulds" and "must-dos".

So I decided to chill out a bit, even though it felt counter-intuitive. I had booked a weekend trip to Amsterdam with some girlfriends back when I had some spare cash, and now I couldn't afford it (I had paid for the flights and accommodation, but had no spending money). They offered to lend me the cash to spend while I was there, and although I was uncomfortable with the idea, and I knew it wasn't "responsible" of me to go on holiday when I had zero in the bank and rent due, I decided to go. Hey presto, sales came in that weekend and I ended up only borrowing a bit from them and being able to repay it as soon as I came back.

And the week I came back, I decided to take some time off work. I laid on the couch for two days reading and watching tv programs. It wasn't as easy as it sounds - I am used to working long days and weekends these days, and there is always something that I should be doing! But I was firm in my resolve to chill out, and (importantly) to truly enjoy it and do it without guilt. Guess what - best week of sales in a while!

Like you, I've spent a lot of time focusing on belief-clearing methods and trying hard to get stuff to work. Just chilling out and following my excitement seems counter-intuitive and nearly impossible sometimes. But it works. Like @Gumnaam says, you don't have to quit your job before you're ready to, but you can start working on things that excite you that are in line with what it is you want to do. Make it easy, and make it fun!

Wow, this is excellent. Congratulations! Your answer is so encouraging; you are really living out LOA principles, day by day, and it is really working. I recognized the feeling when you mentioned that perhaps the biggest obstacle to overcome is just how simple and easy it all is... And btw can we have a link for your jewelry? :)

@cassiopeia - "Just chilling out and following my excitement seems counter-intuitive and nearly impossible sometimes. But it works." - I've lost count over the years of the number of people I've interacted with (online and offline) who have outright refused to implement this simple idea because they assume (through years of societal brainwashing) that it is too simple to be the ultimate answer...and yet it really is the ultimate answer ...to everything in life :) Nice story.

Hi figure8shape, I love your question because it all really boils down to "how to manifest with ease" and I've got just the thing for you. No more soul searching questions, no more what should I believe, no more how can I adjust my beliefs, no more how's or why's, the only thing you do need is to put it into practice which takes about five minutes and allow it to work for you.

Here's a short description of how to go about it

place a graph like this

alt text

on a clean horizontal flat surface and align it with magnetic north. A graph such as this separates vibrations just as a prism separates sunlight into the seven colors of the rainbow. Everything emits characteristic vibrations containing information necessary for it's identification; dimension, energy, force, etc ... this phenomenon can easily be demonstrated in practice using a pendulum and a drawing like this

alt text

Hold your pendulum above the center of the graph and think "butter" and your pendulum will swing in a certain direction, now think "leather" and the pendulum will swing in a different direction.

The lozenge symbolizes polarities or the horizontal and vertical forces of universal energy, it also symbolizes "as above so below".

Write your wish in the form of a brief text and place it on the center of the graph, place a photo or other vibrational pattern of yourself on top of the text, leave everything in a calm place. That's all there is to it.

The physical visible world is always mirrored by a non physical invisible counterpart, when you pose the graph correctly orientated towards magnetic north on a horizontal surface such as a table and place the brief written wish together with your individual vibrational pattern in the form of a photo or a snip of hair, piece of fingernail ... you are effectively giving precise instructions to your subconscious to perform a particular task, you have constructed a composite pattern which it understands and follows to the letter. Your mind is a goal seeking organism, give it a precise program to follow and it will immediately put that program into action.

The graph is a precision instrument designed to constantly maintain subtle energy structural links between where you are at any "now" moment and the target, it's constantly auto-readjusting, I like to think of it as acting like a gyrocompass guided spacetime shuttle constantly maintaining equilibrium and the best possible trajectory towards the goal. Using the graph in this way is mental programming, you construct and lance a software program for your subconscious and simply know that it's working.

How long it takes depends on where you are on your journey, you'll find that things will gradually fit into place.

You can make your own graph or obtain it from Servranx graph n°14-sélecteur psychologique

If you do not have access to a photo of yourself what else can be used instead of as a wish?

(04 May '14, 21:14) lastplacefavourite

I would presume, based on other methods that any part of yourself can be used as well, such as a hair plucked from your head, blood, clothing you've worn a lot etc.

(04 May '14, 21:29) Liam

yes @lastplacefavourite as @Liam suggests anything that contains your individual vibrational pattern can be used; photo, hair, fingernail ...

I have been very uneasy about not being in regular work since February, but I do not want the 9 - 5 type job that most people have to do, either.. which has created internal conflict for a good few months now. All I can increasingly do is keep working on the personal projects that I have going on whilst thinking as positively about the future as possible and be confident that these projects can turn in to revenue streams, to the benefit of both myself and the wider community.

Thinking of the positives, the universe has provided me with the tools to be currently comfortable living off my savings whilst not in work. This has to be the sort of positive that I can build on. Following my dreams, exploring life and being increasingly creative as possible should help me to gain financially as a bonus, whilst avoiding the withering rat race of regular employment. That's the hope, anyway! :)

I like this question; This because I can relate to it. I don't want a nine to five job either. It would not let me do what I want, or more to the point, do what I know I should be doing. I crave to travel. Visit every country in the world and then start again. It would be a never ending journey for me and my girlfriend. Even if I had a job that paid enough money, when would I have the time to travel? I spend 98% of my life without money and trapped. I believe in time this will change, but until that change gets here I am stuck. I do not believe my life is a reflection of what I am thinking. I believe there is a separate force at work making sure I cannot have what i need or would love to do. I have to travel. I feel good when i visit another country and It brings me alive. I am the same as you in that I need to have the money. It is the difference between what I do and what i don't do.

I can think about anything and everything. There is nothing I cannot think about, but the problem is that nothing happens. My life remains the same. Day in day out, my life is the same old drudge. Maybe I am thinking about drudge? Why would I do that? So, what is going on? Before I can have what I would like I have to destroy all that is stopping me. I do not believe it is me that is stopping me. i believe there is another force at work that we have yet to understand. A force that has nothing to do with loa, but related to make sure we live the life we are meant to live and not the life we would like

I have had some success with loa. I love photography as well as travel. I use film and digital cameras. recently i thought about some filters for my film camera. I explained my problem at my local camera shop and they gave me the filters there and then. I work in a shop and one day a few years ago now a customer asked me about a book. I tried to find the book for the customer. I ended up explaining to the customer we didn't have the book, but could order one for him. He said no thank you and left the shop. The next day at work I was asked to put some books out and the first book I picked was the book the customer wanted from the day before. Loa does work, but seems to work when we are not interested. It has happened too many times for me to say it is all nonsense. Loa sends me what I want when it is no use to me, but don't know why. Take care Chris
