We already know our true nature; we have just temporarily forgotten. Remember that you came here to experience contrast. Before this life, you were in a place where everything was blissful, where you were all-seeing, all-knowing and all-loving. But you decided you wanted some adventure. In truth, you were slightly bored. So you made an agreement with life that you would forget your true nature for awhile, and experience life as a series of snapshots, an unbroken thread of time. You agreed that there would be limits placed on your existence and your knowledge. You agreed that there would be this thing called pain, and that you would have to overcome challenges. But you also agreed that, once those challenges were overcome, that you would experience exhilaration. You would strengthen your understanding of faith and trust by believing in the unseen and loving your neighbors, even when they didn't always deserve it. And when you return from that life (having only just left, from the perspective of your heavenly friends), you will feel renewed and expanded, and laugh at the delight of having conquered life once again. We shall not cease from exploration And the end of all our exploring Will be to arrive where we started And know the place for the first time. T.S.
