So many of the questions here in IQ have to do with finding happiness- whether it be in love, or career, or looks, or in Manifesting.

But what is the straightest, shortest, simplest path to our goals? How do we find God's Will (or Align with the Universe, if you prefer) as quickly as possible?

Are there shortcuts? Are there "easy" ways?

What can I do to achieve this?

To Happiness,

Hi Jai ... here's a short list;

1 Be positive and practice being grateful, note all the positive things in your life.

2 Create a stock of things that inspire you for the moments that your a little "off color". Things that inspire you like quotes, poetry, articles, photos of people, things that you love ...

3 Take time to figure out who you are, what your role is here on earth, even if it's just for 15 minutes every day. In short find your authentic self.

4 Gain knowledge and comprehension through experience and study in all domains, this chases away the unknown in our lives that can be cause of anguish.

5 Always keep in mind that we're all part of something much bigger than ourselves, even though that something "bigger than ourselves" may be indefinable. Relationships are all about fitting into that bigger picture, this way our life becomes successful in simply doing.

6 It's important to remain balanced, life is a journey, with each step we should remain feel harmonious, happy and well grounded. It's appropriate that our purpose in life is to succeed.

and optional following the comments of @CalonLan;

7 Do the upside down yoga pose or if you're not into yoga try this

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2101702/Anti-gravity-yoga-Turn-fitness-regime-upside-down.html

8 And don't forget to add salt and pepper to spice things up, in other words do things your way and feel alive, create your own path of happiness(thanks @flowsurfer) as you go, live in the now.

@CalonLan and for number 8 we could put "don't forget to add the salt and pepper to spice things up"

@ru bis, lol right! And "do things your way". Like a few days ago, I wanted to take a shot of tequilla, but I thought, well, everyone always pour it into a glass and do the shot. I felt the urge to go "animal" so I took the bottle and filled my mouth completely full with the tequilla. I swallow 1, 2, 3..and then bam, my mouth drop and the rest starts to spill out and I couldn't control it. Complete cell breakdown reaction. I laughed so much while I was drooling tequillafalls. haha. feel alive.

Hi Jai

The word "path" constitutes a destination point. But really there is no destination point. It is always Now.

Sometimes the pursuit of happiness can be the actual source of the unhappiness. Just decide to be happy now. Hope this helps:)

@Satori - Excellent answer.

(04 Apr '13, 06:34) Pink Diamond

The word "path" has nothing to do with a destination point, the word simply implies movement as opposed to stagnation.

The past and the future exist; yes, our focus is in the now because that is what now means, it means whatever we are focused on. That doesn't mean there is nothing beyond our focus or that looking ahead in order to navigate the time dimension is a problem. You had to look ahead in time as well as behind to find yourself on this website and to type that answer.

(04 Apr '13, 09:42) flowsurfer

When people speak of pursuing happiness they are usually not really talking about trying to reach a destination point, they are talking about walking a more enjoyable path, even if that path is some kind of game with an end goal; once that goal is reached, the game just starts over (unless the game has no replay value, in which case a new game is picked). You can't do that always focused on the immediate physical environment around you.

I just realized a path TO happiness implies it as a destination. So @Jaianniah, try redefining your question as a path OF happiness.

(04 Apr '13, 11:03) flowsurfer

@Satori This is definitely the shortest, simplest path. This was going to be pretty much my answer to this question too. I don't find it the easiest way though but I feel it could be, with a lot more practise. Good answer and nice to see you - we don't hear much from you these days.

(05 Apr '13, 03:54) Catherine

Which would work up until the point of decision making. Since you can't really choose, as who you are, what you feel and all that is is a mere consequence of multitude of causes and if in fact you were supposed to be happy, you'd already be happy. Maybe something you read, see, hear, think or feel will trigger this change, but it's never voluntary. ;p

You have so much of a choice as a falling leaf has about choosing where it lands. It may wish, but then there comes the wind...

@Pink Diamond - Thank you. @Catherine- Thank you. Good to see you and yes, I'm not on IQ much these days. It's "easy" when your feeling good though :) Keep raising your Awareness / Vibration. Life happens through you, not to you so keep reminding yourself that everything you feel and experience is happening for your highest good no matter what the mind labels it as. Then you will start to experience Authentic joy. A state of Being that is not determined by outside circumstances:)

(05 Apr '13, 09:09) Satori

@Satori That is excellent advice - I recently had an astrology reading and was told I had a "very busy" birth chart with a lot of challenging things ... it makes it easier to know that it is leading somewhere (my highest good) rather than just feeling like a victim. Mostly I'm doing OKay - the Presence Process helped, I think but other things have led to progress. A good reminder to just "keep raising your awareness" - you've made progress over the past six months. You're an inspiration.

(05 Apr '13, 13:43) Catherine

@Satori- yes, dear, it does! Jai♥

@Catherine- Thank you for the kind words. Yes, once you realise you and you alone are responsible for the quality of your experience then you are totally Free and no longer a victim.

i wanted to add the Ru BIS list that for me picking some hobby i liked helped a lot. I picked dancing.

I had listened to Abraham about choosing something that gives you joy. In the beginning i picked some things like going on a drive, watching a movie, or did simple things. But when the activity was over i would again be back to place where i had to work on my vibration.

When i picked dancing it opened a never ending pleasure on day to day basis. I could go to a class virtually any day. If i am home alone i could put the music and dance or practice what i learnt. in class. I also joined teams to perform, so i met more people and developed friendships. etc. And the field is an ocean , to keep me going for literally lifetime!

So through that i learnt picking something like learning an instrument, or singing or dancing or playing a sport or working out in a group etc... activities that you can do on regular basis helped a lot.

So i would say RU BIS list is great and wonderful and you can add to that a nice hobby that has long term sustenance of your vibration.

Happiness is a choice that we have the opportunity to make every moment. What makes you happy or unhappy at any given moment? Judgement. I have a thought about the way it may have went down in the Garden of Eden.

What if it went something like this: God told Adam that he could eat of all the trees in the garden, however, if he ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, then he will halleucinate and experience the illusion of separation from God. So Adam told Eve (Remember the game of Telephone?) that God said not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, or they would surely die, as that is in his mind the equivelant of experiencing separation from God. So Eve, knowing that God loved them and surely would not put a tree there that would kill them, proved it to Adam by eating the fruit. So Adam ate the fruit with Eve, eather by taking a bite, or by the fact that they were still One. So in experiencing the illusion of separation, things would naturally be more difficult. The experience was like being cast out of the Garden of Eden and into a world of judgement of Good and Evil. They now get to choose through judgement the way the world is to them. So, as descendants, we are still halleucinating the illusion of separation, but people are beginning to wake up.

In this scenario, we would simply need to repent, or change our thinking, our judgement from judging things as evil, to judging them as good. The Bible says to judge not lest ye be judged likewise. That could mean that however you judge the world, will be your experience. Some things that people do in this world are truely Evil. However, you cannot experience evil if you judge everything as good. This is what we have free will over, how we judge the world as good or evil.

So if you find yourself in situations that you judge as evil, you can ask yourself, "What good will come of this? What can I learn from this?" Begin to focus on what is good and right in every situation. Don't allow pride or the resistance to change keep you from allowing yourself to change your mind in that moment. The more you do it, the more it will become a habit and come natural for you.

Begin every morning by saying, "Thank you Jesus for this beautiful day! Help me to be a blessing to others." During the day, look for things that are good and right and beautiful. Pray for those who irritate you, pray for the homeless people that you see, etc... At the end of the day, when you are ready for sleep, list everyone, everything that you are grateful for, everyone, everything that you appreciate and bless them/it all. Blessings

great link on repent thanks for widening my vocabulary @Fairy Princess "During the day, look for things that are good and right and beautiful. Pray for those who irritate you, pray for the homeless people that you see, etc" Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference.

@ursixx I think that the word 'repent' is misunderstood and misused, as is the word sin. I am glad you noticed the definitition. And yes, I did think of the serenity prayer as I typed this answer but chose not to mention it. I am glad it made you think of it anyway. :)

"35 But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. 36 Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful." Luke 6:35... It may not seem like much but you'll be surprised how many instructions the Lord Jesus Christ left that are deeper, wise, and true that you can only understand with the heart(After experiencing). The All mighty Father changed my life, my perspective, and my understanding just meditating on Him and His Son. Friend trust me, you'll start seeing the world like when you did as a kid if you just " Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil." Proverbs 3:7. Friend, let the Most Intelligent Person in the universe decide for you and you'll realize that " Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?" Luke 12:25-26.

I think that Abraham probably offers some suggestions for getting there quickly, for the skilled disc jumper, at least. However, some first hand knowledge from an experienced happy person might prove more practical.

Why are some people happy all the time for no apparent reason? I think it might be because they just choose that emotion and are able to maintain it because they accept it unconditionally, without expectations. They don't put any limitations in the way of their happiness.

Everyone wants to be happy. Very few are able to accept the idea that you can simply choose to be happy. Instead, they attach all sorts of beliefs about what it means, and what is necessary to be truly happy. I have to get this or do that, then I will be happy. Others make a bigger mistake with beliefs that say "I can't be happy without..." or "until" and "unless". In terms of LOA that just reads as "I can't be happy". Period. Then there is another group of people out there spreading an infection of beliefs about things that won't make us happy. "Money won't make you happy" "fame won't make you happy". Oh darn, I had high hopes for the five million dollar recording contract I just won on x-factor. Bummer

Your question is about finding happiness because of the benefits tied to law of attraction. Abraham talks more about getting on the high vibration discs and usually speaks about excitement, passion any joy when using emotional terms. They encourage us to "just do it". What that says to me is: just choose to be happy and the quickest way to be happy is to think happy thoughts, do stuff that makes you happy, watch happy things, listen to music that make you feel happy (comedy would work as well), be around happy, joyful people if you can, avoid low vibe people if possible and even pretend your happy when all else fails.

For the last two months, I have been just trying to maintain a smile for more than a minute. I finally realized where I am on the emotional scale. I'm alway hovering right in the middle, the no emo zone. A harmonious mid zone for vibrational ups and downs. It does make sense though. I mean it's a basic rule of cool, that whenever you reincarnate in an amusement park, the roller-coaster is the only way to ride. Good luck with that:)

@i4cim2b "choose to be happy" words to live by!

(25 Feb '14, 03:11) ursixx

But what is the straightest, shortest, simplest path to our goals?

You can act or you can hope and have faith.

How do we find God's Will ?

How do you know God has a "Will". Maybe God is all powerful and has everything he wants and therefore doesn't have a "Will" but is complete fulfillment.

Are there shortcuts? Are there "easy" ways?

The more you live in greed wanting more and more, the more unhappy you will be. You want a "shortcut" that will help you fulfill all of the desires that cross your mind. I think most people on this planet would like that and have wished for that since long ago.

It is not "Pleasure (Happiness)" that God promises anyone. It is a deep spiritual peace. Ironically, it is your pain of not having your desires fulfilled that is preventing you from relaxing into that Peace that is always hidden within you.

What can I do to achieve this?

Stop wanting "Pleasure (Happiness)" because that is a desire that is impossible to fulfill. Even if you do get some of the things you want, you won't get all. Even if you can get everything you want now, there will be more and more things to want.

When you want Deep Spiritual Peace and Relaxation rather than Pleasure, then you have the opportunity to feel that at anymore, but when you seek Pleasure, then you depend on the physical world to provide "things" for you to be happy.

You become a slave to the physical world rather than connecting to the Deep Peace of Spirit.
