It is often the case that, in order to grow to the next level, we have to leave a place of comfort and familiarity (our comfort zone). Sometimes the things that we need to do to grow are uncomfortable.

Given that our Emotional Guidance System is supposed to direct us by steering us towards the things that feel good, and away from the things that feel bad, how do you explain this, and what would be the appropriate response or action to take?

This is an excellent question. To improve my life do I go more towards what feels good to do, or move out of my comfort zone even though that feels uncomfortable? Would be great if a few others would respond. :-)

Over the last couple of years my wife and I have experienced a couple of major shifts in our lives, and speaking for myself not one of them would be what I would call "Comfortable". We both felt that we were working toward and achieving our Spiritual goals. We would start feeling a great sense of accomplishment and self satisfaction in our undertakings. We would reach this Wonderful Plateau and start to feel that we could do anything. Then the s**t hits the fan and we asked each other what did we miss, we must have done something wrong and it starts all over again. We arrived at a new begining. The emotional rollercoaster starts all over again(I'm so Thankful my Wife has the patience of a Saint).I have lost friends for the simple reason, it felt like the right thing to do and on the other hand I (WE) have learned so much that makes it all feel OK.We have just reached yet another Shift and I can't wait to see where this little journey will take us.I must say that Patience and TRUST in Ourselves and ALL THAT IS is a genuine COMFORT.
