My whole life i thought that allergies cannot be cured. Now that i believe that everything is possible i seem to attract information about how to cure allergies. It would be great to cure my cat allergy because i love cats.

Do you know sure ways to cure allergies fast?

@R99 , I have used evening primrose oil capsules for quite some time , kitty's had same effect on me and grass :-) Another natural antihistamine is sea salt on the tongue, don't let it touch roof of mouth . Also I remember coming across some info re EFT , will see if I can find on my computer and get back to you Love N Light

MSM is pretty good for allergies, but you'd be better off looking for the spiritual/emotional reasons behind your allergies. According to Louise Hay, allergies stem from a fear of persecution?

Also, this link suggests that cat allergies may have to do with a fear of intimacy. Also found it funny that the same article says that cats often "humorously target people with cat allergies or people who don’t like them for all kinds of reasons." I'm allergic to cats, and I don't really like them. For some reason I will usually be the first one in the room that they try to jump on!

Anyway, if I were you, I'd do EFT or something on the issue, starting with the feelings you have about being allergic to cats, and going on from there - often the issue reveals itself...

@Cassiopeia Thank you! Actually I have MSM at home but I don't use it. But I'll try it. In my case i love cats but I don't know why I'm allergic to them. I already did some EFT now. So I just need a cat to test if the allergy is gone.

(04 Feb '13, 18:56) releaser99

@cassiopeia - I have a theory about the fact that cats do seem to go straight for people who don't want them near. I think it's their amazing self-confidence, especially in cats that are much loved family members, as my two are. They just don't understand how it could possibly be that they are disliked, which makes them interested in, and curious about you. I aspire to such a level of self-assurance! :)

(09 Feb '13, 22:41) Grace

I never heard that about cats. I love cats though. I have never liked dogs though, and they love me. My mom says its because I am not interested in them. I think it's because animals and babies like me. I love cats, and they will come rub on me or sit on me.

(10 Mar '13, 13:08) Fairy Princess

Thank you Fairy Princess for bringing this forward. cassiopeia, this is very insightful article. I think releaser99 should give it another look. When my GS dog passed; my cats took over the role of guard cats. If we're outside, their ears go up when they hear a vehicle turning into my road, a mile a way & by the time it's a half mile away, they are growling. If inside when someone arrives; they yowl & growl. Outside of little people; they don't care for people much & can be very scary.

(10 Mar '13, 20:53) ele

Not to give the wrong impression - my cats are feral & living where I do; they were never really socialized. I have 2 close relatives who visit often; they both hate cats & my cats know it & make sure they know they don't like them either. They tolerate cat people. Basically they think it's their home & don't want people sitting on their chairs & leaving their scents all over. I'm, sure they don't want another dog living in their house either.

(10 Mar '13, 22:07) ele

@Grace - that's a good theory and I agree! I say I don't like cats, but I do have a grudging respect for them. Maybe they sense that and try to win me over, haha!! Truth is, I'm intimidated by their claws and their nonchalance. I'd rather have a needy, slobbery dog who thinks I am Goddess :)

@ele I completely forgot that I asked this question. Yes, I can confidently say that it is possible to cure allergies!

I tried different things so far and I got amazing results. I am quite sure that my house-dust allergy is now gone for good. I slept in a hotel for 4 days without medication and had no symptoms at all.

Beforhand I would always cough, sneeze and have mild breathing trouble in other environments than my home. Now... all that is gone!!

My cat allergy is still active but it has lessened dramatically. No more asthma attacks! I just experience some itches in my throat and nose. And I get a runny nose. But I'm sure, that I will get over it soon.

So what works?

Most of the time I worked with EFT as @Starlight and @cassiopeia suggested. Thank you very much both of you! I also used the CORE Technique and Focusing. I realized that my allergies actually are emotional problems (like everything in life I believe).

Here are the steps to cure allergies with (Faster) EFT and the CORE Technique.

  1. Think of your allergy and feel into your body to notice how you feel.
  2. Identify the feeling. How would you describe the feeling? Does it feel like guilt, powerlessness, hopelessness, anger...? Focusing helps tremendously at this point.
  3. Then tap to those feelings until they are gone or go in with the CORE technique.
  4. If you feel nothing, it means that your emotions to your allergy are hidden at the moment. Try to trigger the allergy first and then watch carefully how you feel. I realized that my house-dust allergy triggered feelings like loneliness, hopelessness and victim mentality. I don't know why, but I'm sure it has to do with childhood experiences.
  5. Test if there are other underlying feelings and tap to them, or go in with the CORE Technique until there is nothing left.
  6. Enjoy being allergy-free or at least having lessened the symptoms! :)

@releaser99 I saw this question when Cass posted her answer & wondered why you didn't respond. Then FP brought it back to the top. Are you sure you forgot? I was thinking about how fast you selected an answer & then answered your own question after I said I was posterchild for psychosomatic allergies & what my answer may reveal about you. It's almost like you wanted this thread to disappear - wait, that's what I wanted after I said what I did. I'll be back.

(11 Mar '13, 03:05) ele

@ele I responded to cass and her great answer before. Thanks for bringing that thread back into my mind.

(11 Mar '13, 08:14) releaser99

@releaser99 thank god - let's put this thread to bed..... That's where I'm going. Nite...

(11 Mar '13, 08:18) ele

@releaser99 - Thank you for this. The combination of being aware of how my allergies make me feel, and noticing that feeling in my body and tapping it away, has had a wonderful effect on my allergies. It has both quick and then some long-term effets. I am allergic to my own cats, so I clean a lot, but that only goes so far. ;)

(16 Mar '13, 11:26) Grace

@Grace I'm glad it helped you too. "It has both quick and then some long-term effets" This is exactly the same experience I have with it.

You need to find if you are allergic to the cat skin or hair,it can also be psychosomatic(in your mind). It might not be the cat in it self but the decay of is hair or skin that are left in the house.Clean your house vacum to remove the cat hair or dry skin particule. There are some pills for allergy you need to find the right one for you.

Thanks @white tiger. I know that cat hairs are the problem. I will have a look at that link.

I have allergies, and found that completely ridding my house of carpeting, and replacing it with Pergo flooring, or ceramic tile, made a HUGE difference in my allergies. I have had both dogs and cats, and I found out that I was not allergic to them, but rather the dust they were picking up from the carpeting. Also, I am allergic to dust mites, which have no problem catching a ride on your favorite pet for a time....Doesn't that stink?

If you are truly allergic to Kitties, I have heard of this: Bathe them daily. You have to start when they are kittens, of course. You bathe the cat to rid it of loose hair and dander, and it just becomes routine for both of you. This is one way to have you cat and love it, too....;)

My ex-husband got allergy shots for his cat allergies, and they did help...but they are expensive if you do not have insurance...but they do work well. He can now have a cat or two in his home with no problem.

I really do not buy into the "psychosomatic" theories of allergies. I have found that if I am careful, and stay calm during the day, my allergies will also stay quiet. But when they flare up, I suddenly become sensitive to everything!! I have found a favorite antihistamine, and I have an inhaler, and so on. I try not to make a big deal out of the allergies; when I do this, they do not make a big deal out of me. Period.

Lose your carpeting. That will solve 90% of your problem right there.

To your health,

Jai

Well @Jai I'm posterchild for 'psychosomatic' allergies; starting at age 2 & if out of 'balance'; they roar their ugly head. Luckily, I never have the runny, stuffy nose & eye thingy going on - but allergies nevertheless. When I have more time I will be back to explain.

Thank you Jai , I've found your script an interesting read , thank you for being an Actress in my Reality Movie ♥♥

(11 Mar '13, 01:13) Starlight

What do you mean by "script"? Are you implying something negative about my post?

(16 Mar '13, 10:27) Jaianniah

@Jai My folks had hardwood & tiles floors; no carpet. I was never allergic to cats or dogs; most other fur bearing animals, such as bunnies as well as most feathered creatures in addition to just about anything & everything else you can 'imagine' at one time or another. One of my cats loves taking a bath. She decided this under her own free will when she was several years old. She loves being towel dried with a warmed towel.

(20 Mar '13, 02:22) ele

@Jai Emphasis on 'imagine' - I sure wish I would have known back then what I know now. They were ONLY make believe.

You can clear your sinuses in 2 minutes by chopping onions or eating a ton of cinnamon in your oatmeal. Cinnamon oatmeal is also great for lowering cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure. Hard to go wrong with it. Won't fix your cat allergy but its a great way to clear your sinuses in a hurry and have a good meal at the same time.
