Recently I was attracted to a Citrine Crystal. I looked up the metaphysical properties, and found this mineral is used for for good luck. It is also called the Merchant Stone.

Could this work to enhance business? Yes, I know if you believe in it it will probably work. What I mean might the mineral give a vibration or energy conducive to good business and success? It has known as the success stone.

What is your input?

@Tom I'll do a bit of research in my many crystal books and get back to you but I know it is mentioned in one called properity crystals by Judy Hall. If you do go down this road, citrine fades in sunlight so don't leave it out in the sun to charge up! Also, try getting natural citrine - much of it has been heat treated. Any good crystal shop will guide you on this.

@Catherine, Thanks let me know what you find out. Do you think it vibrates at an energy for business, or just belief and superstition.

(17 Mar '13, 16:45) Tom

@Tom Did you give the idea of putting a citrine into your wallet? I did this and in the last few weeks have noticed that my fortunes have taken a modest turn for the better. Apparently you can only "programme" quartz crystals but I put it in there with intention to increase financial well being.

Crystals generate, conserve, radiate and amplify energy. Holding a piece of quartz triples the bioenergy field around your body. Depending on the lattice (the internal crystalline structure) some crystals absorb energy and some amplify it. In the particular situation you are asking about, the citrine crystal is taking your intention and amplifying it out into the universe to attract back all that you wish for. The true source of power is your own thoughts and so the crystal (citrine or otherwise) is no substitute for all the usual steps - changing your mental programming, not measuring your self-worth by what you do or don't have, releasing self-limiting beliefs, understanding fundamental law that like attracts like etc. The crystal is another tool to help you achieve your goals.

If you are looking for a Western scientific answer then I am afraid I don't have anything to offer that would convince you. However in a piece about how crystals might work in crystal healing, I found this ...

"Each crystal has one molecule, which is repeated throughout it entire structure. It has inherent order and the ability to adjust rapidly to all kinds of environmental changes. A crystal has a fundamental stability and, at the vibrational level, can maintain a constant electromagnetic signature."

It could be that the citrine crystal has the ability to maintain a constant sunny vibrational signature whereas the electromagnetic fields around the cells in the body fluctuate. The citrine then acts like a tuning fork - encouraging you to raise your frequency to match it. This is the Law of Resonance.

It is really important though that you select the right crystal for you - set your intention before you head out to the store and try to "feel" you way through the experience. If one particular crystal sticks to your fingers then that is the one for you. Hold the crystals in your hands and get a feel for them. Once chosen, thoroughly cleanse (loads of good info in books or on internet) and then programme with your intention ... "I dedicate this crystal to the highest good of all and ask that its power be activated now to work in harmony with my own will and focused intention to create ....". After that the crystal needs to be regularly cleansed and recharged. Crystals do absorb energies ... so this step is important.

I have only recently been drawn to crystals but already I have found they are useful permission slips to let go of things. Tom - for the cost of a crystal and maybe some cleansing drops ... give it a go!

EDIT: update 20 March 2013 Citrine is one of the crystals that never needs cleansing.

@ru bis Thank you for that ...

"It is really important though that you select the right crystal for you" @Tom - and that is the answer to your question, my friend.

(19 Mar '13, 19:36) ele

@Jai, so sorry to hear about you illness will send healing energy, be well.

(19 Mar '13, 23:35) Tom

@Catherine - Wow, great answer! This is an interesting subject that I know almost nothing about... and that's one of my favorite things in the world! :) You've got me scurrying around, digging out some of my old things from a decade or more ago... I found a big clear chrystal, tiny bottles of moonstone and clear crystals, a jade bracelet, a rose quartz bracelet, and a raw amethest. No memory of how I used to use them.

@Grace Thank you Grace ...sounds like the start of a new hobby.

On the subject of vibrational energy and crystals, consider this; that there is thought outside humans.

alt text

We have to admit that there is intelligence at work throughout the three major divisions of nature; the animal realm, the vegetable realm and the mineral realm and if we try to exclude minerals, all we have to do is think of the mechanisms and phenomena at the nuclear level or at the evolution of stars.

Thought like life, seems to exist at different rythms more or less rapid. In the mineral realm, it's slowness compared with us is so great that we are incapable of discerning it's operation. However, special techniques such as radiesthesia, allow us to probe life and thought at different levels and recognize their presence everywhere in the universe. It is likely that by successive dynamisations homeopathy can liberate the vital forces of apparent inert substances.

@ru bis - I had never given a lot of thought to crystals before. I had only ever thought of them as sort of ampifyers resonating with energy already present. This is interesting!

(18 Mar '13, 09:20) Grace

i appreciate your appreciation :) @Grace

@ru bis, That was a great answer, but it didn't answer my question.

@Tom yes i know but i had great fun writing it :)

I am a Certified Crystal Healer. Citrine is a yellow form of crystalline quartz. It corresponds to the solar plexus. This area has to do with life force and energy. This may be what you are picking up on this in crystal. Please email me about any questions you may have. I will be happy to help on a personal level. There is so much to crystal healing we could talk all day. Please email. There would be no charge for anything we do!

@Jainniah Do you use this a lot in your work - I assume you are primarily a reiki practitioner? It is a fascinating area. By the way, your profile doesn't include an email address.

(18 Mar '13, 04:42) Catherine

love this answer :)

(18 Mar '13, 07:29) ru bis

@Jai, My email is in my profile yours is not. I noticed no one attempted to answer my question

(18 Mar '13, 13:30) Tom

@all- my email is on the left side of my profile. Tom, I did not answer your question as I as sick and in the hospital, and did not have the energy. I am sorry. II was hoping to open a dialogue by phone via email, which would have been easier for me to handle.

(19 Mar '13, 02:52) Jaianniah

@Tom I'm still thinking about it and reading about it ... will get back to you.

(19 Mar '13, 03:12) Catherine

@Jai why are you sick & in the hospital again?

(19 Mar '13, 19:38) ele

Email addresses in profiles are not visible to other users, only yourself. If you wish to display your email address, you have to add it yourself to the right hand side of your profile

@ele- they sprung me a few days ago...I have another one of those nasty joint infections, this time in my left elbow. Home now and the stitches from surgery are driving me up a tree. But I will be fine.@Barry-I did not know that people could not see my email address. It's as simple as can be: jaianniah@yahoo. Just be sure to spell it right!

Ok I am going to answer my own question. I believe that certain minerals give off vibrations for healing success etc. This is just like the pyramid shapes give off and energy, it doesn't have to be programed. It just is. A little extra programing can only help though.

(20 Mar '13, 16:15) Tom

@Tom I'm not sure whether you are answering me as I mentioned programming - I don't have enough experience to say why it is best to programme them except that several books mention it as a means of focusing your intention. The books vary from seeing them as merely minerals that vibrate to seeing them as beings in their own right. I guess - as with most things - it really depends how you see them. My own intention is to buy myself a citrine, programme it and see what happens.

(20 Mar '13, 16:50) Catherine

@Tom Have you considered converting your comment to an answer - you make a good point about pyramids.
