Lord Acton said, ""Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."

When we try to use the law of attraction, we are engaging a form of Power, albeit Unknown and Unseen.

I feel this Power when something I wanted manifests itself in my life...but is this Power the same Power that people who are above others use to gain their ends? Perhaps it is, perhaps it is not.

The Pope was named "Time's Man of the Year". Here is a man of Power, who apparently is not misusing his Power. He sneaks out at night, and goes among the homeless of Rome, trying to minister to them. He is using his Power in a good way, rather than issuing decrees about how we should go out and aid the homeless. He is doing it himself. He does not sound bad to me.

"The Hunger Games" series is showing us what Absolute Power can do....If you are not familiar with these books, or the two movies that are out, take a look. The series is showing how Absolute Power, in the wrong hands, boomerangs the misuse of Power onto the one who metes out Power wrongly. This series made me think about Power, and whether, when we ask for something through Manifesting, we are actually asking for things, or rather, deep inside, more Power in our lives.

But having that Power, granted to us by the LOA, gives us many more choices than a person who does not use the LOA. We do have the choice, then, to do wrong, and we do have the choice to do right, given that Power.

But where does Power fit in with the LOA? When we use this Law, are we actually asking for more Power in our lives? It is definitely something worth discussing, I believe.

Blessings to All this Holiday Season 2013,

you have plenty of power, you are that power you are that light. get to know your self and you will know other. are we more powerful united or divided? you might ask for more power but if you lack the control to use that power it will consume you. since you cannot control what you do not know. and other people are also power around you and will not accept to be control. but if you are in harmony with your self and with other if you ask someone for something he will reply to you to the same-

(12 Dec '13, 05:56) white tiger

level of harmony that you ask him. ask something nicely to someone and he will be nice with you. ask something in anger to someone and he will respond to you with anger or will not respond to you at all or will respond to you by necessity and not because he wants to respond to you. since the person will interact with you on your own level. it is the same with animal you ever seen Cesar the dog whisperer? why does the dog interact with him and not the owner of the dog?

(12 Dec '13, 06:06) white tiger

is it because is interaction is more in harmony with the dog? is it because he understand and know the dog better? how come he is able to make the dog do things that the owner is not able to do? is that not power in action? if LOA is law of attraction why not start by the closes thing to you that you could attract be in harmony with your self attract your self and get to know your self.

In my experience, power that unites and serves other people is eternal, while power that divides people and serves only yourself is fleeting.

The reason for this seems clear to me. It is a question of understanding, of insight into the way the world works. Who has more power, the person who keeps everything he earns for himself, or the person who understands that when he gives to others of himself, he always gets back in equal or greater measure in return?

The person who keeps all for himself, or tries to manipulate others to achieve gain, shrinks his world (and by extension, his mind), because he doesn't understand the connectedness he has with everyone else in his world.

The person who gives part of what he earns to help others less fortunate than himself has something far more powerful: compassion, and the peace of mind that goes with being able to contribute, in some measure, to making the world a better place.

Despite all their faults, I give credit to the Catholic Cardinals for appointing as their highest representative, not someone with the characteristics that they feel might be attractive to the modern Catholic, but someone with enough humility to be willing to ride a bus, and enough integrity to stand up to his own principles.

There are many things far more powerful than the kinds of things that we normally associate with powerful people. Genuinely spiritual people already know that their real power flows from the Source, not from anything they might personally achieve or gain in this physical world.

Power is the raw energy of the law of attraction and as such is neither good nor bad, it's the infinite supply of potential mind matter.

Just as the potential supply of electricity is infinite and only limited by the means that we can capture and convey it, the potential power of the law of attraction is infinite, is always at work and available, and as living beings we naturally have that power within us, it's only limited by the extent of our awareness, it's in becoming consciousness of that power within that it comes into our possession.

The more aware we become, the greater the power we have under our control and the greater our individual magnetic mind power, the easier we attract whatever we wish

You're right @jaz ~ Awareness is key. Seems like a fitting place to add my fav line from The Wizard of Oz when Glinda the Good Witch says ~ "You've Always had the Power, Dorothy" Funny how ppl remember the ppl who they view as bad abusing their power instead of the ppl who used their power for good & like you said, "it's neither good or bad" until someone labels it as such. Glinda's quote is not only true but more uplifting than the quote by Lord Acton who lifted it from a French poet

(15 Dec '13, 20:20) ele

... poet/politician. I'm not sure if power flows only from the mind. I think heart plays a key role also..

(15 Dec '13, 20:24) ele

I wouldn't say power corrupts. I could give examples such as Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, Pope Francis, Pope John Paul the III, Jesus, Gautama Buddha, Gandhi.

All of these were people of great power that used that power for the improvement of human kind.

I believe those in government try to help the USA in the best way they feel they can. Unfortunately a lot try to influence government for personal gains.

I don't believe it is power but lack of power that harms. When people feel that they need to look out for themselves because they are helpless they try to cause things to lean in their favor. This is similar to not wealth but lack causing problems. This feeling of unfairness that needs to be corrected drives people to do things that cause corruption in the system. Everyone must be seen as equal regardless of money or status. All loved, the wealthy man has a seat at your table as well as the homeless poverty man sitting next to him. None looked down on, none hated but all loved.

Yes we may say look at Hitler, he had much power and was very evil. But we need as well look to Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt.

since people are that power if they are corrupts it is by their own choice and own doing since they are that power. it is because they are in ignorance lead by their desire seeking only to satisfy them self. they harm them self and other, they lack in them self because they do not know them self they are in poverty and they are that poverty. many judge after the flesh and material gain they see only the outside and the surface of things, How can they ever truly know them self and other?

(17 Dec '13, 10:35) white tiger

we're all master creators, including Hitler, Churchill and Roosevelt ... Did you know that Churchill, well before WW2 started and during the time he was a junior minister, wrote in his memoires that he often wished he was at the head of a country during a wartime conflict?, so knowing what we know about the law of attraction we could say that he was one of the co-creators of WW2

(18 Dec '13, 13:42) jaz

@jaz Wow for the Churchill info! That really gives something to think about.

I will give you a simple example: if one get a computer and does not know how to plug it in or press the power button does he have power? if one does not know how to make the computer work or connect it to a lan or a wan does he have power to do stuff on is network or the world wide web network? if one does not know how is computer work does he have the power to help someone else to fix is computer? if one does not know how to order things online, does he have the power to make someone deliver something to him? if one does not know how to make web page does he have the power to make a web site online?

if you are able to understand all of this.

you your self have to get to know your self in the same way you get to know your computer, what is the difference? you look with out and do not look with in. if you are not able to know your self and become in harmony with your self how will you be able to do it with someone else.

if we would take the example of a drop that is on land near the shore and there is a pieces of stone or wood in is path, how can it connect with the drop of water in the sea it as to know it self as a drop of water that is not divided and can connect to the sea or other drop of water. if it ask the sea and all the drop of water to connect with it a wave form and come and get him over the stone or around or under the pieces of wood. then the wave draw back.

know your self clean the inside of the cup shine light on your inner darkness solve your division, drink the water see your own reflection get to know the light that you are, until the 2 becomes one(born of water and spirit) if you overcome with out fear you can cross the last narrow door and go back above to the kingdom where there is no division, ask and it will be given, seek and you shall find, knock and it will be open.

"If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

"This heaven will pass away, and the one above it will pass away. The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. In the days when you consumed what is dead, you made it what is alive. When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?"

Jesus saw infants being suckled. He said to his disciples, "These infants being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom." They said to him, "Shall we then, as children, enter the kingdom?" Jesus said to them, "When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter the kingdom."

"If two make peace with each other in this one house, they will say to the mountain, 'Move Away,' and it will move away."

"If one who knows the all still feels a personal deficiency, he is completely deficient."

"That which you have will save you if you bring it forth from yourselves. That which you do not have within you will kill you if you do not have it within you."

"It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the all. From me did the all come forth, and unto me did the all extend. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there."

"He who seeks will find, and he who knocks will be let in."

What is more important to have power or to know how to use it? then drink some water that comes from my mouth and you will never thirst again. not by power or by might by my spirit.

Let there be light, be the light that you can be, experience and enjoy.

some are in ignorance and darkness and are double minded and seek outside their precious power at all cost: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhF060VmS1g

they need to clean the inside of the cup if they want what is really precious. when they find the pearl of great price inside of them self and know that their brother are the same made in the image of the one that send them. they will truly know the folly made in ignorance lead by desire rather then the spirit. they will understand that they are passer by in this world and that nothing in this physical world last and everything change. until they understand this they seek outside what they lack inside to praise them self. when the real search should be made inside to overcome and get out of this bondage. like in the movie: the lord of the ring, how many have fall to the power of the ring being lead by their desire? to control, posses, own, get rich, get praise. they should first get to know them self inside and would not be in bondage. everything in this world is for us to use properly, why go in excess and extreme? does it serve you or your brother? or does it cause harm to you and your brother? if you say those question does not serve my desire keep looking out for what you desire. man even kill to get what he desire if you are always in excess and extreme where do you end up? is it not in desolation? is this what have happen to smeargul in the lord of the ring? what about the dwarf kicked out of their own mountain? what about the dragon alone in the mountain? is this the desolation of Smaug.

if it is dry up and you are thirsty for water in the desert.

pure as white snow let it snow let it snow.

is this not better then war for something outside of you that will pass away?

take a look:

will they change their way and be at peace or do they want a nuclear winter that will last very long. it would be better for them to wash the inside of the cup. be peacemaker with a pure heart. Job38:22 Mark 13:2

keep watch, be aware.

Satan is Power, but God is Love and although Love is a gentle force, it truly is Powerful because it remains humble and therefore hidden and unable to be attacked.

Law of Attraction is a way for people to feel in control of their lives. It is away to get people to believe they can have whatever they want (Power, Materialism).

Abraham, Bashar, all of them teach this. Kryon seems to stretch the importance of love but even HE doesn't talk about "Agape - Loving Kindness - Charity" as Jesus Christ always taught giving to others and it is better to give than to receive.
