What do you suppose goes wrong, and causes a soul to become a ghost?

I have never really heard a good explanation for this.

Peace,

Jai ♥

There are obviously as many kinds of ghosts as there are people. They are as alert or as unalert to their situation as we are to our own. They are not fully focused in physical reality in personality or in form and this is their main distinction. Some apparitions are thought-forms sent by survival personalities out of lingering deep anxiety. They portray the same compulsive-type behavior that can be seem in many instances in your ordinary experience.

The same mechanism that causes a disturbed woman, say, to perform repetitive action such as constant washing and rewashing of hands, also causes a particular kind of apparition to return time and time again to one place. In such cases the behavior is often composed of repetitive action.

For various reasons, such a personality has not learned to assimilate its own experience. The characteristics of such apparitions follow those of a disturbed personality-with some exceptions, however. The whole consciousness is not present. The personality itself seems to be having a nightmare, or a series of recurring dreams, during which it returns to the physical environment. The personality is "safe and sound", but certain portions of it work out unresolved problems, and discharge energy in such a fashion.

They are in themselves harmless. Only your interpretation of their actions can cause difficulties. Now in the middle of life, of life conditions, you also appear on occasion as ghosts in other levels of reality, where your " pseudoappearance" causes some comment and is the ground for many myths- and you are not even aware of this. Now I am speaking generaly. Again, there are exceptions where memory is retained, but as a rule ghosts and apparitions are not any more aware of their effect uppon others than you are when you appear quite unconsciuosly as ghosts in worlds that would be quite strange to you.

@T A Which book do you recommend from the Seth books? And, by the way, the above is very interesting. I had only recently read that thoughtform can be ghosts as mentioned here (Ken Maclean ebook and on the Kryon website). They both basically agreed with the above. It does explain the repetitive nature of some ghosts - always walking along a hallway or walking across a room in a certain way. Thank you T A.

I recommend Seth Speaks for an overview of the Seth material. The other books largely expand over specific themes covered on it. All of his books are good too. I particularly like The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events and The Unknown Reality (Volume two) which, for me, are mind blowing.

@T A Thanks very much for that. They look really interesting.

It is common and widespread belief that ghosts are regretful or unrestful spirits. This seems to make sense as I believe that if someone is very resistant to dying or does not feel they accomplished what they needed to in this life, then their spirit will find a way to remain in this world until they accomplish what they need to or find a way to move on. Although no one wants to die, it seems that when the time comes, most people choose to move on from this life, as the hardest part of death is the dying itself. And unless they have a special reason to remain behind, they don't.

It also seems to be the case that most houses that are haunted tend to be where some tragic event happened in them. In houses where some tragic event happened, there are probably many people who died under unpeaceful circumstances or died afraid of death and so are less likely to move on as their spirits died in a state of distress and are still fighting and clinging to this world. Also, because of the evil that has occurred there is also a lot of dark energy manifested, which does not necessarily have to manifested when they are dead but by all the pain and bad emotions that the people experienced when they were being tortured or when they were in pain. These pains, bad emotions and memories can give a bad vibe to the house and they can remain in the house in some unconscious form.
